Reddit is an often overlooked gold-mine in finding loyal users for your product. Most people think of product launches, Twitter/X or ad-sense for B2C or LinkedIn for B2B. But I am here to propose an overlooked alternative where you can meaningfully build connections with the community you are looking to serve. This is because Reddit is created as a community with sub-channels that welcome everyone (granted you abide by the rules). And you can treat these conversations as deeply or superficially as you would like, but you probably shouldn't do the latter. There is a growing advantage of treating your users like your loyal friends instead of just numbers on a spreadsheet.
Join all relevant subreddits to your niche that pertain to your product.
Read the rules of those subreddits thoroughly and beware of self-promotion rules (most subs have them).
Build up your Karma (point system that shows how much you have contributed to the community) to develop trust by truly engaging with posts and the community and helping out.
Make sure you have a memorable Reddit username and avatar.
Remember that the more you show up to help your community and get upvotes, the more people will remember you - and when you try to acquire users your success rate will skyrocket.
Be genuine and transparent - focus more on helping the community rather than having a sole goal of dropping links to market your product.
Contact moderators if you want to self-promote your product and the request will go smoother if you are offering a free and valuable service that directly helps users in that sub. You can contact moderators through Modmail.
Responding to comments with your tool as a link in case it is free, helpful for that question, and very relevant. This is gray territory and some moderators might take measures against this - so the more you abide by the free/helpful/relevant guidelines, the better your odds.
Consider doing free giveaways such as free trials, educational content, or the freemium part of your site.
Try using tools such as Reddit Ads and Howitzer to automatically stay up to date on important conversations related to your product and chime in if needed.
